The Red Read Robin Creative Writing

The Hull Kingston Rovers Community Trust Heritage Project has launched a new and exciting series of creative writing sessions.

Author Brian W. Lavery is to be writer-in-residence and community tutor for the new heritage writing project. Based at KCOM Craven Park, home of Hull Kingston Rovers, Brian will be encouraging local people to take part in free writing classes, as well as curating, editing and publishing heritage-based stories from the community surrounding the club.

Would-be writers will see their work published on a website as well as in print in new twice-yearly publication, The Red Read Robin.

Two sets of 10-week writing workshops will be available free to anyone over 16 years of age and will start on 7th October 2019. Located in the North Stand hospitality boxes, the classes will take place from 7PM till 9PM approx.

The Community Trusts Heritage Project has a vision to inspire and communities to engage with new activities using the proud history of Hull Kingston Rovers.

Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the aim of the project is to build on new and existing links, creating a community heritage ‘hub’ centred at KCOM Craven Park.

A key focus is to utilise heritage for the benefit of all, raising awareness of local and personal history, teaching new skills and providing opportunities for people who have traditionally had little access to heritage and cultural activities.
